In short

A forging enquiry needs a drawing or specification, the material grade or standard, heat treatment, testing and certificate requirements, and the quantity. Send what you have and we will help complete the rest.

What to include

  • Drawing or specification with dimensions and tolerances. For plates and blocks, give the size.
  • Material grade or standard. For example ASTM A105 for carbon steel piping forgings, or ASTM A182 for alloy and stainless steel flanges and fittings, or your own grade.
  • Heat treatment required, such as normalising or solution annealing.
  • Testing and inspection, such as ultrasonic testing, hardness or impact tests.
  • Certificates, for example a material test certificate to EN 10204 type 3.1.
  • Quantity and delivery timeline.
  • Machining: as forged or rough machined.
